             "Give Powhatan The Business"

Welcome!

The officers, board, and members of the Powhatan Chamber of Commerce are pleased and excited to bring to you our website including our newest Membership Roster and Consumer Information.  This website is one of many important ways we have to inform prospective new businesses, residents, and visitors of the many services, products, and benefits available in Powhatan County.

It is the goal of Powhatan Chamber of Commerce to have each citizen think of Powhatan businesses first when they need a product or service.  Before spending your dollars outside of our community, think....

"Give Powhatan the Business".  Do you know that most of the businesses in Powhatan are owned and operated by people who live in Powhatan?  These are your friends and neighbors who truly appreciate each dollar that you spend with them.  Do you know that when you shop locally, a percentage of the sales tax is given back to Powhatan County?  Do you know that the more we patronize our community stores, the more growth in business and the more expanded the selection will become?  Do you know that by encouraging business growth, we will also create employment opportunities right here in the community where we live?

There is often a misconception that shopping at small businesses means you will have to pay higher prices.  This is simply NOT true. IF there is a cost difference, it arises from the fact that sometimes a small business cannot purchase wholesale at the same price as a larger store.  The few cents more you might pay are offset by not having to take the time and gasoline to drive into a surrounding county.

We invite you to browse through this website, bookmark it, keep it in your favorites, and the next time you need a service or product -- please:
